Brand Radar listens to news about specific companies on the internet, using custom-made social media listening tools. We listen out for messages about particular companies.
We then analyse the messages we get, the amount of messages we get and the frequency with which they occur. Most of all, we are interested in the sentiment expressed by the people originating these messages. We also differentiate between genuine messages and irrelevant messages, which is of particular importance right now as a growing percentage of contemporary material generated on the internet is at best promotional; and at worst, spam.
We then run the messages through our own sentiment analysis programmes. Traditional sentiment analysis has had difficulty in achieving acceptable levels of accuracy. Our newer methods intend to deliver more useful results.
- Strategic tracking of specific company news.
- Sector specific sentiment analysis with greater accuracy.
- Targeted pattern recognition.
